Reading a mountain by its honey

3 May 2026 · By Anna Drozdowska

Eduardo can taste which flowers bloomed this spring, and which ones didn't come back. His hives are not a business. They are a diagnosis of the landscape.

Across the slopes of Montgó Natural Park, 20 hives of heritage native bees work more than 50 species of wildflower. Each year's honey carries a slightly different signature, a readable record of what is thriving and what is disappearing.

Apitourism lets visitors taste that record for themselves, turning a walk through the park into a lesson in pollination and biodiversity.
